Professor S.B Junaidu

Professor Sahalu Junaidu Balarabe is a Professor at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Kaduna State Nigeria. He is a Life Member of Association of Computing Machinery (ACM); Member, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE); Member, Computer Professionals (Registration Council) of Nigeria; Member, Nigerian Computer Society.

He is the Pioneer Head of Department, Department of Computer Science, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria from 2016 to Date.

So far, Professor Junaidu has published over forty articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He has supervised to successful completion, about thirty graduate students (PhD and Masters degree students).

He led and guided a team of twenty-five members that developed over a dozen different software applications for automating various processes in a University setting. He won a software development grant of about twenty-five million naira from the National Information Technology Agency, NITDA in 2012.

In 2015, Professor Junaidu sourced an intervention from the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) for building and furnishing a 250 sitting capacity Computer based Testing (CBT) Centre for ABU to provide a platform for wider use of the in-house developed CBT software application.

He is the Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Board.
