The Director General/CEO of National Identity Management Commission, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote on Friday , 11th October, 2024 said Digital Bridge Institute Institute, DBI is key to ensuring that NIMC meets its goal of registering all Nigerians and legal residents into the national identity database.

Coker-Odusote stated this when the President/CEO of Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), David Daser visited her at the NIMC Headquarters to discuss potential collaborations between both institutions.

During the visit, the DBI CEO emphasized the importance of aligning the objectives of DBI with NIMC’s mandate to enhance national digital transformation and capacity building in ICT.

He noted that the DBI, as a leading ICT training Institute, is uniquely positioned to partner with NIMC in the area of professional training and development, particularly in the fast-growing fields of digital identity management and data security.

Furthermore, Daser said through the multi-campuses in all six geo-political zones with residential facilities (Abuja, Kano, Lagos, Yola, Asaba, and Enugu), DBI has been able to provide cutting-edge skills development and enhancement in Nigeria.

In her remarks, the DG of NIMC Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote expressed her appreciation for the visit, stating that collaboration with educational and training institutes like DBI is key to ensuring that NIMC meets its goal of registering all Nigerians and legal residents into the national identity database.

She highlighted the importance of Artificial intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity and capacity-building initiatives to support the ongoing implementation of the National Identity Number (NIN) project and other government policies aimed at achieving a robust digital identity infrastructure. The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to strengthening ties and a shared vision for a digitally inclusive and innovative future for Nigeria.
