The President/CEO of Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Daser David, on Monday, 23rd September 2024, paid a courtesy call to the Council Chairman of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), His Excellency Isa Yuguda, in his Abuja office.

During the visit, both parties discussed potential areas of collaboration aimed at fostering educational advancement, Digital literacy, and capacity building in Nigeria.

Highlighting the importance of the partnership Daser, stated “The Digital Bridge Institute is committed to driving innovation in education and sees NOUN as a pivotal partner in expanding access to quality education, especially among the youth in Nigeria which is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, especially in the area of Digital skills training and e-learning”

Daser further added that DBI runs the program National Innovation Diploma (NID) which offers a rich blend of hands-on practical training tailored to meet industry, occupational and entrepreneurial requirements coupled with deep theoretical underlying concepts that cover the overarching need for academic studies in a 70:30 ratio.” adding that DBI hopes to leverage NOUN’s extensive reach and expertise in distance learning to develop cutting-edge programs that empower students with future-proof skills.

The Council Chairman of NOUN welcomed the proposal emphasizing that NOUN is keen on collaboration that aligns with its mission of democratising education for all Nigerians. “With DBI’s strength in Digital training and our expertise in open and distance learning, this collaboration holds immense potential for reshaping how Nigerians learn and grow in the digital world.” He opined.

The meeting concluded with an agreement that will explore key areas of collaboration, including curriculum development, capacity building for educators, and expanding access to Digital learning tools for students nationwide.

The President/CEO was accompanied by Ms. Viola Askia-Usoro, Group Head, Corporate Services, Akin Ogunlade, Head, Public Affairs Unit and Mr. Musa Umar of Finance department.
