The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Lagos Learning Center, has launched a three-day training program aimed at equipping staff of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) with advanced data analytics and visualization skills. The training, titled Building Data Models Using Excel and Power BI, commenced on December 10, 2024.
The program began at 10:00 AM. with an opening ceremony led by Malam Sani Tsoho Yakawada, Head of the Lagos Learning Center (HLLC).
In his opening remarks, Malam Yakawada welcomed the participants and provided an insightful overview of DBI’s legacy as Nigeria’s premier international center for ICT studies. Established in 2004 by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), DBI has trained over 80,000 individuals through the ADEPTI Training Program, fully funded by NCC.
He also emphasized DBI’s credentials as an Accredited Training Center (ATC) of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and its partnerships with esteemed organizations, including CMD, NITDA, Cisco, Pearson VUE, Microsoft, and Certiport. These collaborations, he noted, underline DBI’s mission to provide globally recognized training programs that address the evolving demands of the digital economy.
Speaking on behalf of the President/CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute, Mr. David Daser, Malam Yakawada officially declared the training open.
The training represents DBI’s commitment to empowering professionals with the skills required to thrive in the digital era. With its world-class resources and strong industry partnerships, DBI continues to bridge the digital skills gap in Nigeria and beyond.
The opening ceremony was graced by key DBI personnel, including Ms. Genevieve Ikejiofor, Mr. Ikenna Ogbanufe, Mr. Baiye Israel, Mr. Aliyu Haider, Ms. Chiamaka Eluke, and Mr. Onyedikachi Agu.
