The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, joined industry stakeholders at the 8th Edition of the NADPA-RAPDP Conference and Annual General Meeting, held from May 6–8, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

The conference brought together data protection professionals, policymakers, and technology leaders from across Africa to deliberate on the theme: “Balancing Innovation in Africa: Data Protection and Privacy in Emerging Technologies.”

The event was graced by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Senator Kashim Shettima, who was represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia. Also in attendance were the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande.

Hosted by the National Commissioner and CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr. Vincent Olatunji, the conference served as a high-level platform for robust discussions on data governance, innovation, and the protection of privacy in the digital era.

The Chief Executive Officer of DBI, Mr. David Daser, was honoured as a Special Guest of Honour at the event. He was ably represented by Ms. Viola Askia-Usoro, Head of Special Duties at DBI, accompanied by Mr. Akin Ogunlade, Head of the Public Affairs and Protocol Unit.

DBI reaffirmed its commitment to advancing digital transformation through capacity building, advocacy, and strategic collaboration, aligned with global standards for data protection and emerging technologies.
