Barely two weeks after his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the new President / Chief Executive Officer of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Mr. Daser David, on Monday, 2nd September 2024, officially resumed office at the Institute’s headquarters in Abuja.
Mr. David, whose appointment was announced on 20th August, was received by the top Management staff of the Institute.
A vastly experienced expert in digital technology, Mr David was the pioneer Director General of the Plateau State Information Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA), which developed digital systems to drive governance in Plateau state and improve efficiency in the civil service.
Under his leadership, Plateau State initiated the Silicon Plateau Project and its flagship programs, including the Code Plateau, which has helped in fostering a community of soft skills experts as well as the pioneering Qua’an Pan Innovation Hub, the first fully funded hub by a local government in Nigeria.
Daser David, a graduate of Biochemistry from the University of Jos, is a software engineer and founder of the first innovation hub in northern Nigeria; Nhub, a technology solution company and a skill acquisition hub for thousands of young people venturing into tech entrepreneurship.
He has consulted on IT for the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Air Force as well as several other public and private sector players.
David was also a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on Technology & Creativity, chaired by former Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo.
The council was set up to provide solutions to several technology and creativity challenges in the country and helped to foster the advancement of the country’s entertainment and technology ecosystems.
