The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) have announced a strategic partnership to develop and deliver National Innovation Diploma (NID) programs. This partnership aims to provide quality, industry-relevant education to Nigerian youths and professionals, equipping them with critical skills for the evolving job market.

The NID programs will offer specialized courses in Computer Software Engineering, Computer Hardware Engineering, Network Systems and Security, Multimedia Technology, and Telecommunications Engineering Technology, among others. These programs meet the standards set by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), ensuring students gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

According to NOUN’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, “Our collaboration with DBI aligns with our commitment to expanding access to quality education and fostering innovation-driven learning. This partnership will enable learners to benefit from flexible learning opportunities while receiving globally competitive training.” Having benefited from DBI training, Peters attested to the institute’s capacity.

DBI President/CEO David Daser said, “We are excited about this partnership with NOUN, which will enable us to leverage digital technologies in delivering innovative diploma programs; together, we aim to address the challenges of unemployment. By equipping students with practical skills that meet industry needs.” Daser noted that DBI’s multi-campuses in all six geo-political zones with residential facilities have provided cutting-edge skills development and enhancement in Nigeria.

The NID programs will be offered through a blended learning approach, combining online and in-person sessions across DBI’s and NOUN’s nationwide centers. This collaboration supports the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the 3MTT program of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, led by Dr. Bosun Tijani.
