FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT DBI NID PROGRAMME

What is NID?

NID stands for National Innovative Diploma. It is an 18-month academic programme approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Federal Ministry of Education for Polytechnics, Monotechnic and Innovative Enterprise Institute.

Yes. The NBTE accredits DBI NID Programmes and is also recognized for academic progression for HND and BSc (through the direct entry route).

It is only available DBI Lagos and Kano campuses for now. However, DBI is working assiduously to get approval for NID programmes on its other campuses.

It is a 2-year Programme (18 months).

Yes, NID and ND are equivalent, but the NID programme is more innovative, entrepreneurial, and with more practical content.

The form is downloadable at the link below from the DBI NID portal, or you can walk in to any of our learning centres to apply physically.

The NID application form is free.

The tuition fee for the DBI NID programme is available on the NID portal website. You can also contact our student liaison officer for more information.

The available programmes are:

  • – Multimedia Technology
  • – Computer Software Engineering
  • – Computer hardware Engineering Technology
  • – Telecommunication Technology

You can gain admission to any university through Direct Entry for HND or BSc.

It is available for a fee, but accommodation spaces are limited.

We support students in finding internship placement and entrepreneurial training among our partners, though we encourage students to do so independently.

  • – Five O’level credits in English and Mathematics and two other related/relevant science subjects in not more than two sittings
  • – Current UTME Jamb results with a minimum of 100 scores.
  • – WAEC/NECO/NABTEB O/Level result suffices.
