As OHCSF Inaugurates New Members of the National Digital Literacy Technical Working Committee
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) successfully hosted a two-day Digital Literacy Workshop themed: “Building Sustainability Towards Achieving 95% Digital Literacy Level by 2030.” The event, held from Tuesday, April 29 to Wednesday, April 30 in Abuja, brought together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to rally support for Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
A major highlight of the workshop was the appointment of the President/CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), David Daser, as Chairman of the newly established National Digital Literacy Technical Working Committee. The appointment was made by the Director-General of NITDA, Dr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, and marks a significant milestone for DBI, recognizing Daser’s tireless leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing digital inclusion across Nigeria.
Delivering a goodwill message on the second day of the workshop, Daser commended NITDA for its visionary leadership and reaffirmed DBI’s strong commitment to achieving the national goal of 95% digital literacy by 2030.
Further strengthening institutional collaboration, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) formally inaugurated the new members of the National Digital Literacy Technical Working Committee. The committee comprises representatives from notable agencies and organizations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), ENGAUSA, GIZ, among others.
The event also featured the participation of high-level government officials, including the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom; the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad; and the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim,all of whom expressed strong support for the vision of a digitally empowered Nigeria.
On the first day of the workshop, Mr. Emeka Nzeih, Head of Learning and Development at DBI, represented the CEO and reinforced DBI’s strategic alignment with both national and global digital literacy initiatives. He emphasized that DBI remains a committed driver of inclusive digital capacity building and a proud partner in shaping Nigeria’s digital future.
