The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) has commenced a three-week training programme on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for children from Junior Secondary School (JSS) level and above.
The training, themed “AI Innovators Bootcamp: From AI User to AI Creator,” is an intensive hands-on AI learning experience being held at the DBI Headquarters, Utako, Abuja. It commenced on Monday, August 3, and will end on Friday, August 21.
The learning programme cuts across four powerful tracks, including AI Fundamentals, AI in Everyday Life, Generative AI, AI Opportunities, and AI Limitations in Track One. Track Two focuses on Prompt Engineering, AI Research, AI Images and Video, and AI Presentations, while Track Three covers Chatbots, AI Apps, Automation, and AI Productivity. Track Four is dedicated to Responsible AI, Design Thinking, Team Innovation Challenge, and Capstone Project.
Speaking on the training programme, the Head of Unit, Business Development and Client Services (BDCS), DBI, Mrs. Judith Uzougbo, said the DBI Holiday ICT Bootcamp is an annual training programme specially designed for children who are desirous of equipping themselves with relevant and in-demand Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills.
She pointed out that AI has become an essential and transformative digital skill for education, employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
According to her, “The DBI AI Innovators Bootcamp will prepare the children and leaders of tomorrow not only on how to use AI tools, but also to become creators, innovators, and responsible digital citizens capable of solving real-world problems using AI.”
She explained that learning will take place through interactive workshops, practical exercises, innovation challenges, and team projects. These activities will enable participants to explore Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, AI-powered creativity, Chatbots, Automation, Digital Productivity, and no-code AI application development, thereby helping them build an impressive portfolio of projects.
A unique highlight of the AI Innovators Bootcamp is a one-day field trip using the DTC Mobile Bus to provide participants with practical exposure to a mobile computer centre.
