
The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) is exploring a deeper strategic partnership with the Nigerian Law School to expand technology training, digital capacity development and institutional cooperation across Northern Nigeria and the country at large.
The development followed a courtesy visit by the DBI Yola Campus to the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, to explore areas of mutual interest and lay the foundation for enhanced collaboration between the two institutions.
The DBI delegation was led by the Head of Yola Campus, Mr. Dashe Dingwur Garba, who represented the President/CEO of DBI, Mr. David Daser. He was accompanied by Mr. Wilson Bako and Mr. Isah Alhassan of the Administrative Department.
Speaking during the engagement, Mr. Garba expressed appreciation to the Deputy Director-General and Head of the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, Dr. Salmanu Rilwan, Esq., for receiving the delegation.
He said the visit was aimed at strengthening the relationship between DBI and the Nigerian Law School, particularly in technology training, capacity development, knowledge sharing, innovation and institutional cooperation.
According to him, the proposed partnership would provide opportunities for the Nigerian Law School to benefit from DBI’s specialised ICT training programmes, professional certifications, technical expertise and modern training facilities.
Mr. Garba also highlighted opportunities for the Nigerian Law School to utilise DBI facilities for training programmes and other institutional activities in the North-East and other parts of the country.
The discussions identified several potential areas of collaboration, including:
* Institutional engagement and capacity-building initiatives;
* Specialised ICT training programmes and professional certifications;
* Digital transformation and technology-driven institutional development;
* Utilisation of DBI facilities for training and other institutional activities;
* Knowledge sharing and stronger institutional engagement; and
* Collaboration in emerging areas of digital technology.
Particular attention was given to emerging and critical fields including Artificial Intelligence (AI); Cybersecurity; Data Protection and Digital Risk Management; Strategic ICT and Digital Transformation for Senior Public Sector Leaders; Data Analytics for Decision-Making, Digital Governance; Policy Design and Regulatory Innovation.
Mr. Garba noted that these areas are becoming increasingly important to modern institutions, particularly within the legal and public sectors, and align with DBI’s mandate of building digital capacity and promoting technological development across the North-East and Nigeria.
Responding, the Deputy Director-General and Head of the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus Dr. Salmanu Rilwan welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation to DBI for the visit.
Dr. Rilwan commended DBI for its contributions to the development of ICT and digital competencies in Nigeria and reaffirmed the Nigerian Law School’s commitment to sustaining and deepening the relationship between both institutions.
He expressed particular interest in exploring joint training opportunities and the utilisation of DBI’s facilities for Nigerian Law School activities in the North-East and other parts of the country.
The Deputy Director-General also pledged to facilitate further engagement with the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School at the institution’s headquarters in Abuja. He further expressed readiness to visit the DBI Yola Campus for a comprehensive tour of its facilities.
The engagement ended on a positive note, with both institutions expressing a shared commitment to developing a stronger and more strategic partnership that responds to the growing importance of technology and digital skills in the legal and public sectors.
The proposed collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for digital skills development, professional training, technological innovation and institutional capacity building, while contributing to the broader advancement of digital transformation in the North-East and Nigeria.
