The Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC has on Tuesday, 20th February, 2024 kicked off a 2-day Telecommunications Industry Risk Management Conference which brought together stakeholders, experts and professionals from the telecommunications ecosystem.

The President Digital Bridge Institute, Prof Mohammed Ajiya, NCC Zonal Controller Lagos. Mr. Tunji Jimo, and, the EVC representative, Executive Commissioner Technical Services, Engr. Ubale Maska during the events.

The conference, held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, saw participants engaged in insightful discussions on risk assessment, mitigation strategies and best practices within the industry.

The President, Digital Bridge Institute, DBI, Prof Mohammed Ajiya was not left out among invited stakeholders by the NCC to the 2024 conference with the theme “Evolution and Future Risk Management in the Telecom Industry: Harnessing Emerging Technologies and Trends”.

Prof Ajiya, while responding to questions raised regarding skills gaps in the Telecoms Industry, stated that the NCC was proactive by establishing the Digital Bridge Institute in 2004 to provide training for professionals in the Telecoms Industry and funding the ADEPTI training program anchor by DBI which is targeted at the tertiary institutions among other innovative programs being sponsored by the NCC.

The conference served as forum where participants and the NCC exchanged knowledge and collectively addressed the diverse challenges and opportunities related to risk management in the telecom sector.

At the event, stakeholders deliberated on topics ranged from collaboration and innovation for effective risk management, navigating financial risks in the telecom industry, to strategies for sustainable growth among others.
