Gwa Tobbie Mohammed is a Director with the Nigerian Communications Commission. He graduated from the University of Jos in 1990, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991 and later obtained a Master of Laws degree in 2019. Mr. Mohammed is a Certified Regulation Specialist, having been accredited by the Institute of Public-Private Partnership, Washington DC.

Prior to joining the Commission in 2004, Mr. Mohammed had extensive litigation experience working with the law firm of Kanu G. Agabi (SAN) & Associates. He also has cognate corporate practice experience from his employment at Benue Cement Company (BCC) Plc Gboko, where he was Legal Officer, covering for the Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, with specific responsibility for corporate compliance, community relations and litigation.

In October 2020, Mr. Mohammed was appointed by the Governing Board of the Commission as the Commission Secretary. By virtue of this position, he is the alternate of the Commission’s Board Chairman on the Board of the Digital Bridge Institute.

Over the years, Mr. Mohammed has represented the nation as a subject-matter expert and country representative at various international fora. He is a devoted family man who enjoys watching football, playing chess and counselling couples to prepare them for godly marriage.
