As the foremost capacity building and digital learning Institute in the country, Digital Bridge Institute, DBI has been invited to the 21st Convocation Ceremony of the Igbinedion University Okada (IUO), Edo State.
The President/CEO, of DBI, Prof Mohammed Ajiya represented by the Head of, the Public Affairs Unit, Mr. Akin Ogunlade was among the dignitaries who graced the event. In his welcome speech, the VC of the University Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye, specifically thanked NCC and DBI for the laudable Advanced Digital Empowerment Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADEPTI) brought to the University to equip teaching and non-teaching staff with the digital skills needed in the University environment.
The 3-Day Convocation Ceremony, which started on Friday, 24th to Sunday 26th November, 2023, featured the Award of First Degrees, Higher Degrees, Presentation of Prizes, and Conferment of Honorary Degrees to deserving graduates and personalities.
During the ceremony two Guest Speakers, Dr. Peggy Oti-Besteng, Executive Director of African Academy of Science, Nairobi, and His Excellency, Senator Dr. George Akume, CON, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Federal Republic of Nigeria made presentations on the topics: The Changing Higher Education Landscape, Implications for Emerging Workplace Dynamics and Public and Private Sector Intervention in Tertiary Education in Nigeria Stimulus for Innovative Research and Development respectively.
The Main Auditorium which served as the venue of the ceremony was filled with Vice-Chancellors, Professors, Executive Directors, Captains of Industries, and Honourables among others.
The ceremony will be rounded up with Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, 26th November, 2023 at Chapel Of Grace, IUO Teaching Hospital Campus.
