The 8th edition of the Digital Bridge Institute’s Newsletter covers events, activities, and programs of the institute recently carried out to achieve the aim and objectives of the institute. The newsletter contains special articles on technology, activities on campuses, EVC book launch at Mbora, And several other activities. The newsletter unit is focused and determined in keeping staff, management, and the general public abreast of the happenings as they come up within the institute and its environs.
Digital Bridge Facilitated a two-week training for100 youth on Digital Literacy in its Kano Learning Centre. As part of the pillars of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy, the training tagged Digital Literacy Training of Youth Across the Country is sponsored by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), being a bid by the Nation’s telecoms regulator to foster the diversification of the Nation’s economy through increased support for the ICT sector. The program aims to harness the youth’s strength and to empower them to be future employers of labor.
One of the exciting reports of this edition is a feature on a Working Visit by the Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission which was a very engaging session. We also had the privilege of implementing the Digital Literacy for Youths project of the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy. We have also captured details of courtesy visits and strategic partnerships with the Institute within the period.
The fifth edition of DBI’s Newsletter succinctly captures the activities, events, and programmes of the Institute within the past two weeks, as part of efforts to improve DBI’s brand visibility and Stakeholder engagement, the bimonthly Newsletters features trending ICT related matters contents articles, the Advanced Digital Appreciation Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADAPTI) programmes held across the nation, campus activities and a working visit from the the Nigerian Communications Commission’s Board members to the President/CEO of DBI, visit from the Nigerian Network Operators, and a courtesy visit from the top management of Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Command.
Right Honourable Olusegun Bolanle Gbeleyi, Deputy Speaker of Ogun State between 1999-2003 has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of the Digital Bridge Institute, (DBI), an International Centre for Information and Communication Technology Studies, under the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC. Rt. Hon. Olusegun B. Gbeleyi is a trained teacher, excellent administrator, well accomplished journalist, publisher, graduate of Mass Communications in Time-Based Media, and an accomplished digital administrator. Appointed alongside the Chairman are two additional members of the Board: Mr. Reuben Gilbert Omotowa, and Chief Enyi C Enyi.With the addition of these caliber of individuals to the Governing Board, the Board will continue to deliver effectively on its mandate of providing policy direction and guidance to the Management of the Institute to ensure that the DBI achieve its set objectives

This week we are delighted to bring you the third edition of our mind blowing content filled DBI online newsletter. We are happy to report that this edition captures strategic visits from the leadership of educational institutions in the country and the Advanced Digital Appreciation Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADAPTI) programmes held across the nation. The DBI is also glad to support the initiative of the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) towards ensuring a seamless conduct of the JAMB examinations which is ongoing. We have special features of campus activities in Lagos, Kano and Yola and we are sure you will have a great time reading.
Given our commitment to always keep you abreast with events and milestones attained in the Institute, we are pleased to introduce you to the second edition of the DBI online newsletter. As a capacity building Institute, this edition x-rays the unique efforts of the Institute to drive impactful partnership for growth and training of tertiary institutions’ staff under the NCC’s funded ADAPTI program. We also discussed topical issues on ICT and featured press release from strategic courtesy calls and campus activities. While keeping you informed, we assure you of finding impactful information on the progress of the Institute.
This newsletter intends to reach out to the public on three major components: 1) sharing of news updates on the core mandate and workings of DBI;
2) presentation of articles on topical issues within ICT sector and
3) offering of special announcements.
In this maiden edition, we are presenting to our esteemed readers articles on three thematic areas which are: 1) Campus activities; 2) Gender balancing in ICT in Nigeria. and 3) Official visitations. Each of these thematic areas addresses current issues in relation to their subject matters.
We intend to offer you more interesting themes in the subsequent editions of our newsletter.
