On Monday, December 9, 2024, the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) proudly joined the 2024 National Migration Dialogue, organized by the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) in commemoration of International Migrants Day. Held at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja, the event convened policymakers, experts, and stakeholders to celebrate the contributions of migrants and address the urgent need to protect their rights.

This year’s theme, “Beyond Borders: Celebrating Migrants’ Legacy, Protecting Their Rights,” underscored the significance of inclusive migration policies that embrace diversity and cater to vulnerable groups, including Nigerian migrants with disabilities abroad.

Representing DBI’s President/CEO,  David Daser, at the event were Ms. Viola Askia-Usoro, Group Head of Corporate Services, and Ms. Temidayo Babansulaimon, Officer of the Public Affairs Unit. Their presence highlighted DBI’s dedication to leveraging digital education and technology to empower migrants and marginalized communities.

As a frontrunner in technology and digital skills development, DBI advocates for equity and inclusion in migration governance. The institute remains steadfast in its mission to use digital solutions to enhance lives, foster self-reliance, and create opportunities for all Nigerians, regardless of location or circumstance.

The National Migration Dialogue continues to serve as a critical platform for collaboration, amplifying the voices of migrants, fostering partnerships, and driving actionable strategies to uphold their rights and enable their full integration into society.

The occasion was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima  Mustapha GCON; the Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction, Prof Nentanwa Yilwatda; and the Commissioner/CEO of National Commission For Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, (NCFRMI) Tijani Ahmed Aliyu along with several other distinguished guests.
