…To Liaise with SEDC, Southern Leaders, and Governors

The South East Youth Stakeholders Forum (SEYSF) has committed to mobilising unemployed youth across the Southern region for digital skills acquisition training at the recently upgraded Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) campus in Enugu, Enugu State.

This pledge was made during a courtesy visit by SEYSF leadership, led by its Chairman, Dr. Ezenwa Onyirimba, to the President of DBI,  David Daser, at the institute’s headquarters in Abuja.

To realize this goal, Dr. Onyirimba stated that SEYSF would collaborate with the South East Development Commission (SEDC), prominent South East leaders, both at home and in the diaspora, as well as all South East state governors. This partnership aims to ensure effective engagement and support for the DBI Enugu campus.

Dr. Onyirimba emphasized the strategic importance of the Enugu campus for the South East, particularly in fostering digital literacy and job creation. He affirmed the Forum’s commitment, saying:

“We will not only work with the South East Development Commission but also engage all our leaders, both locally and abroad, as well as the state governors to support DBI’s efforts. This is a lifeline for our people, equipping them with digital skills to become employable and productive. We are fully committed to mobilising our youth to benefit from the training programs offered at the Enugu campus.”

The Forum lauded the proactive leadership of DBI’s President, commending the strides taken to enhance the institute.

Dr. Onyirimba remarked:

“We are thrilled by your proactive leadership. This is exactly the kind of progress we need. It is encouraging to see that significant work has been completed at the Enugu campus. The world is going digital, and we are determined to ensure our youth have access to this vital opportunity for skill acquisition. We are ready to partner with you to ensure the campus not only takes off effectively but is also sustained.”

In response, DBI President David Daser expressed gratitude for SEYSF’s support and assured them of the institute’s dedication to making the Enugu campus a success. He revealed that the campus renovation has been completed and is scheduled for commissioning and operations by February 17.

Daser added:

“The Enugu campus is particularly significant to us. Its deplorable state before the renovation was heartbreaking, but we are proud to have transformed it. One of my key goals is to ensure this campus operates effectively and is sustained as a center for digital skills training. This achievement will be a testament to our commitment to youth empowerment.”

The DBI management also urged SEYSF to intensify efforts in mobilising and ensuring sustained training programs at the campus. DBI Head of IT, Nwanze Okonkwo, encouraged the Forum, saying:

“Your efforts are commendable, but I challenge you to maintain this zeal. Let’s work together to continuously organize training for our youth and make this initiative a lasting success.”

Other SEYSF members present during the visit included Hon. Obinna Nwosu (General Secretary), Hon. Chidozie Orizu, Hon. Chukwuma C., and Prince Tony Ezeimo, Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President on Budget Monitoring and Reporting.
